Commonwealth Games: Another medal for Pakistan

Nooh Dastagir Butt, a young weightlifter managed to win bronze medal for Pakistan this Monday in ongoing Commonwealth Games, 2018. He made the win with his name by lifting 395kg in the +105kg event in Australia.

The 20 year old youngster managed to leave Indian Gurdeep Singh behind him by lifting 13kg more than him and stood third in the race. David Liti from New Zealand and Lauititi Lui from Samoa claimed gold and silver medals respectively.

Last week, Talha Talib grabbed first medal for Pakistan in 62kg weightlifting category. He also set a new record in the category’s snatch event as well.

Pakistan in other games at CWG ’18

While talking about the wins, lets talk some stuff about other games, Pakistanis are in. In hockey, Pakistan played 3 matches against Wales, India and England respectively and amazingly, they manged to draw all three of them. Pakistan is now at third number in pool B and has just one game left against Malaysia on April 11th. There are not bright chances of Pakistan’s managing to be in semis as Malaysia has same number of points as Pakistan and they have two games in hands and India has three of them.

Pakistan is getting successive defeats in Badminton and Squash. Bisma Khan obtained seventh position in the 40m freestyle heat, in swimming.
